550 clutch rebuild

    Sorry to bother your general chat.....but could someone direct me to some good info. on clutch replace on a 1981 xj550 Seca please.

    A quick heads-up, Bill: you may find that you have more than one "special" (larger ID) friction plate with a wave washer (clutch boss spring) inside it. The North American bikes only had one; I've come to understand that Euro and World market bikes may have two.

    The main thing is the orientation of the tabbed plain plates upon reassembly; and be sure to match the dot in the pressure plate with the dot on the hub. And don't overtighten the bolts.
