Hi all, I've read a few posts on how to do a value adjustment but I have one question... On the 400 twins the engine mount is right in the middle of the valve cover. How do I go about checking my clearances without having to drop the motor? There has to be a better way...

You don't have to "drop the motor" but you do have to remove that upper mount.

Thanks, I took the old gal apart today to check out my valves and they are within spec... But they are fairly tight. I would imagine that in the next 5-10k miles that they would have to be adjusted back to spec.

Quite likely. That's why we need to check them every 5000 miles.
