Can anyone identify the model that these forks are from? They are on an incomplete XJ 650. Engine number 4K0 003796 Frame number 4K0 003009
they are different to the other two XJs that I have in the areas marked and the spindle appears to be different.

    Cheers

    Rob

They look quite similar to post '83 XJ900 forks, going by the mudguard/brace mounting points.

Not sure about the top cap though, that looks like the self-balancing cap from air assisted forks on some Hondas. (My old CX Euro Sport had them, joined by a bit of brake type hose & with a valve on the left cap) I guess you'd know if they were Honda though as it'd have anti-dive on the left leg/caliper mount.

I suppose it's possible someone just fitted random caps to incomplete 900 forks to hold the springs in? Could you maybe get a couple of clearer pics of the axle clamp area and measure the diameter of the legs? The 900 forks are 37mm and the 650 may have been 36mm (unsure on that though, if someone could confirm the actual diameter please?)

Thanks 750E-II_29Rbloke, the forks are 36mm dia, same as my XJ650s. Hope these photos help to clarify it a bit more.
