Ran across a pretty good deal i think . Gs 450l the guy knows nothing about bikes at all. Was going down the street and the bike just shut off and would not start up again. will check out make sure its not a bad motor but i do not think so i believe its the ecu suzukis have the same grounding problem as yamahas. check compression and usual stuff guy wants $300 obo if i can talk him down might be able to make a few bucks on it help fund my other projects.

Looks like a steal to me. Should be able to flip it with good profit fairly easy

Maybe it just ran out of gas or he forgot to turn the tap on (if it's not vacuum operated.)

Re: Going to check this out tomorrow

Found out something went wrong in the petcock. The 5 year old gas was still thin but smelled like sweet alcohol. Cant get air to go thru the petcock with compressed air even on prime. Ordered a new petcock. Tank was in bad shape above the fuel level about 1/2 full its not rust but black crap looks like it might have been leaking water thru the key hole. Got it out back under the gazebo electrolysis. Was really careful pulling the carbs moved the air cleaner back loosened the clamps put a screw driver between the carb body and rubber intakes. pried real lightly the carbs fell off. The boots shrank so much they came right off the metal flanges that attach to the heads. Ordered the new ones pulled the carbs apart 1 was dry had no gas when it stopped running
. They are 34mm Mikunis easy carbs to work on everything is clean blown out have to sonic clean them blow them out again put them on make sure it runs before adjusting the valves and polishing ect.

Wet sanded then took it to my bench top buffer with white rouge. Then finished it off with a couple coats of purple metal polish for protection

Re: Going to check this out tomorrow

Actually most was done with 500 i use it till it gets so warn out its like paper lol.
Bike is getting there motor is all back together valves adjusted No fun when some of the shim numbers were rubbed off. I bought like 10 shims at 7.00 ea for 4 valves. They were all tight could not get a .0015so had to measure and guess on the shims But they fit all the old gs air cooled bikes 29.5mm. New stator is in rear wheel is off now getting a once in a lifetime clean up. Suzuki had their stuff together the rear sprocket has like a teflon coating black non stick. sprayed some simple green on it used a parts brush 18k worth of grease grunge came right off anyone that has ever cleaned a sprocket knows how bad they can be to clean. Striped the drum also brake shoes look great no delam on these puppys. polish the wheel and 1 shock put it back on tomorrow. Waiting for my battery to get here before carb sync. Next week i will order my ss line new master and kit for caliper polish the front forks and it will be about done

Yea it has 2 lol . Ordered 2 kenda or how ever you spell it. Hopefully this project will be done in a few weeks so i can send it down the road. Think i found my next project. I probably will not make a bunch of money for it but who ever gets it will be getting a nice bike with all maintenance done.

Well little suzie is about done got to get the new tires mounted. Took it for a ride down the street today runs fantastic does not look to bad either. Have a little over 600 in it not to bad considering all new front brakes new stator shims for the valves 2 tires and gaskets chain. Just have to figure out why the speedo quit probably from sitting. Need to move the slide clips up on the 350rd first and make sure its ready for the season
