Hello everybody. Just bought a 1982 xj750 and was curious what other years the exhaust might be compatible with, if any? Or if anyone knows of a source for cross referencing parts with this year?

Could try searching for the xj cd, it contains plenty of info and only costs a couple of dollars for you on your side of the pond.

I know the 81-83 XJ750 Seca exhaust is the same. I also know that the 82 XJ650 Seca exhaust will fit a 750 (that's what I'm running on mine).

From the head to the "belly mount" point, the 650's and 750's seem to interchange (Seca or Maxim) but the muffler hanger location will/may need a short strap fabricated.

From a performance standpoint, the 650 Maxim exhaust may be more restrictive. It had smaller cam specs. than a 750.

The 700's might also fit as above, but I don't know.

    The 550's, 600's and 1100's won't fit.

Any reasonably shaped muffler, from anything, can be adapted to fit with a welded bit of pipe, and a strap. Including tractor mufflers, Harley Sportster throw-aways, and other bikes.

Pretty much all of the USA-market 750s, '81 ~'83 Seca or Maxim, had the same exhaust system except for the mufflers.
