hey guys, I know that this topic has been talked about a lot, however, I was wondering what the factory setting for the pilot screw on a 400. I have seen 2.5 to 3 for the 750 but is it the same for the 400? I am getting a little hesitation from idle until about 4k rpm then takes off real nice until redline, I have yet to take the plugs out to look at them but I may want to start from fresh to get it dialed in.

The XS400 book I have, which is the "multinational" version, says 2.5 turns out. Float levels at 3mm +/- 1mm.

I can get you a copy of the manual; but you'll need to PM me with mailing info; it's too big to email I'll have to burn a CD and drop it in the mail.

Checked the screws and both were set at 2.5 out so I richened the screws .25 of a turn and it seems to run much much smoother at low rpm. I'm sure my 7 month old fuel didn't help either haha.

Once you get fresh gas in it and the weather warms up, you may end up needing to put them back.
