I am in the process of "caféing" my 81 xj650. I was looking at the rear end earlier and thought to myself, " this bike would look better with a mono shock". I know that the 83 virago came with a mono shock and was also shaft driven, so It has the same style swing arm. so my question is, will the virago swing arm bolt on to the seca frame, and if so would the drive shaft be the right length after the fact? just curious to see if anyone has attempted it or has done it.

Don't know the answer to your question, but I do have and 83 XV that my son just converted to a Cafe racer. It is an interesting thought worth looking into.
