My 82 maxim 750 leans really far on the stand stand, it looks like the original stand, and no signs of any repairs. i feel like i have to pick the bike up everytime i get on it.
    any ideas?
    any options?

get on your back and give the area where the stand connects to the frame a real close look, the tubes tend to rust from the inside there and the weld can rip out the frame tube.
    let's hope this isn't you

They so lean pretty far as is. If you had longer rear shocks or something it might make it worse.

They are kinda sketchy in soft dirt if it's not level...

Also check if the pivot point has "splayed" apart, remove and whack it with a hammer to tighten it up. If it appears bent, you can straighten it, but you should heat it red first.

I weld 1/2 an edger blade to all my kickstands so I can park in grass-sand.

Theres no cracks or rust, it looks rather good. it feels really sturdy on its kickstand, its just leaning like 45 degrees. I did put slightly bigger shocks on the back, so maybe i should change back for awhile an see if thats it.

i like the plate idea for grass, ive had the same issue with it sinking in.

Longer shocks will cause the bike to lean further (Trig). If you need the extended ride-height you can grab a used kickstand, and have a welder make it longer (I'm assuming that you don't weld).

I weld, i just dont trust my welding, so i would have a pro do it, or my grandpa, that old bastards so good, he can weld 2 pieces of paper together.

    Thanks for the advice.
