turn signal help, signals not blinking

bike is an 82 xj 750. i removed the windjammer fairing and installed some turn signals off of a different xj model. they are 27 watt bulbs, so the wattage is right. the signals just go solid when i hit the controller. no blinking at all. i have 3 wires hooked up to them, would having those in the wrong order cause this behavior? i suspect that they wouldn't work at all if i had them hooked up wrong, but i have no idea. i have not done much work on a bike before so i'm new to this. the turn signals hooked up with the fairing worked fine last year.

 

Which model are they from? Yes, having them wired and or located incorrectly could cause such a issue.

they were pulled off an 82 maxim 650

they have 3 wires, they turn on, i connected them to the harness where the old signals were connected. i do not know if the stock (82 xj750) bike uses a 2 or 3 wire connector. maybe i'll try switching the wires around. i just found it odd that they turned on, so it seems like the electricity is flowing fine. i thought the signals flashed automatically because of the load, which it should be hitting because these are stock 27w bulbs.

back ones hooked up, they stay solid now too.

bike is running fine, they wont blink even at high rpm.

brand new battery this week too
