I have an 82 XJ650 seca. I ordered 4 NGK BP7ES 1034 spark plugs. These are the plugs that my manual said to use. I just tried to put them on and the caps don't fit on the plugs correctly. Below are pics of the old plug ends vs the new ones. Do I need to get new caps or what? New to motorcycles so sorry if this is a dumb question. Couldn't get uploads to work so here are the links to the pics...

The top of the new spark plug will come off to reveal the threads underneath. Just use your fingers or a pair of pliers to spin it off!

WOW! Teddy beat me to it man
But don't feel silly yr new to working on bikes and with these older bikes you will become very used to working on them as long as you wanna ride one no matter what brand it is if it's used yr gonna have to turn a wrench at some point unless you can afford to pay a shop 3 to 4 times what it will cost you to do yourself buddy
