Unable to access you pics of the tire. But a few questions. Did you just get this tire? Has it been sitting somewhere? All tires have a date code embossed in the side wall. Should be in an oval shaped area and be 4 digits indicating the week and year of manufacture to give info on how old the tire is. If you recently bought it as a new tire and it was indicated to you as a "new tire" you might be able to return it. Sometimes buying tires from ebay, for example and as example only, you are buying old stock tires. Tires weather check as they age, the rubber out gases oils and such, the compounds age and harden and have very decreased traction. If it is cracked it is history. Old enough to be cracked means way decreased traction. I run a lot of Shinkos and have had zero problems with them and they do have great pricing.

Okay, that pic I can see. That surely looks like checking one would expect to see on an old tire. 2113 would indicate 21st week of 2013 so not that old. I hope Motorcycle Superstore takes care of you on this deal. I wouldn't say it is "unsafe" to ride on but I would not be happy about it either. It may have been store in a hot area of the warehouse and/or sat in the direct sunshine. Good Luck and keep us advised.

Most tires have some sort of protective coating on them from the factory; be sure that's not what's cracking instead of the surface of the tire itself: take a shop towel with some brake cleaner or lacquer thinner and clean a spot in the "cracked" area. You may find the actual surface of the rubber itself is fine. (Speaking from experience here...)
