Hi all. I haven't been on the site for a while. Last year I fell while I was rock climbing with my sons. I shattered by tibia and fibula. Two operations later and I have two screws reattaching the promenance (sp) of the tibia and a plate and 10 screws holding the fibula together.

The surgeon hit one of the nerves on the outside of the leg during surgery and so I experienced a delayed healing as a result. Stuff happens. I was off the foot for five months. Thankfully my employer allowed me to do some desk work so I could keep collecting a paycheck.

Today was the first day since July 14th that I fired up the XJ. My battery was shot so I picked up a new one and charged it up. I was supposed to let it charge for 5.2 hours according to the chart but I was too anxious so I gave her a crank after a couple of hours and within about 1.5 minutes it started to cough and within another minute or so it started up.

I'm very happy. No mice nests that I can see anywhere. No chewed wires that I have discovered yet. But somehow I am missing that stinking spring for the rear brakelight switch. I'm not sure when that went missing. I will check with Len and see if he has one.

I need to check it out good before I take it out on the road but now I am getting anxious.

    Good to be back.

Welcome back Micro, Always nice to see old names popping back online!

Glad to hear you're doing better after the fall and that the bike's running!

Rock climbing eh? I've taken up that sport over the last year or so, very humbling but a good bonding experience for myself and the kids. Are you planning on going back at it? Man that sounded painful.

    Thanks guys!
mwhite - surprisingly not too painful but I did come close to going into shock.

When my sons carried me down off the rocks (not too easy on the way down with one of them trying to stabilize my ankle which was just flopping around) and they set me down on a relatively flat surface, I could feel my head start spinning and I got pretty sick to my stomach. But I just put my head between my knees and it passed pretty quick.

And yes, I will go back out there - but not yet.

sektorgaz - yeah life throws surprises. But we just roll with it and carry on.
