Test your clear coat for gas and oil resistance. I didn't, and it only takes one drop.

Now go back and rebuild those forks so when you start riding the bike they don't dribble fork oil all over your nice new paint job.

Original fork seals generally don't work very well or for very long once you put them back in service.

gee Fitz, if I did that then I would have to actually do work
can't we just go back to when I lied and told you
I did a valve clearance check, or when I made up
    numbers for my compression test?

    you only live once right?
and for me that will be all over the highway in a 100 foot smear!
    ;)

started putting stuff back together today
although it is far from done
    here is more progress

also pulled the back wheel off to check the brakes
    drums are new
and was going to change the rear bearings
    those are new as well
I keep getting surprised by maintenance that has been performed
    in the past

as I am waiting to get paid and so I can order parts and
    finish this build
after I got done shaving down the seat and reupholstering it
I decided to do a mock build
keep in mind I am adding another coat of clear
and then polishing the shine into it
as well as adding signals and mirrors
even then I am far from done working on this bike
however I had to share this

I love the color of the saddle. If it was mine, I'd throw some old school post office style saddlebags on them. If not, i saw some brown hardbags. Kinda cool if you ask me cuz noone has em. http://www.vikingbags.com/motorcycle-saddlebags.htm

Otherwise, Great job on the bike! Love it

the seat is a lot Brighter in pics than in
    non pics
as for saddle bags.. I am not a fan, but then again
    I might get some
for now I just need to keep working on it
overall I am happy with it, considering it was cut
shaved and built up with a yoga mat.. can't wait to ride this beast
