Chacal should know the correct size, and in fact it may be in his catalog. If I get a chance I'll check mine this weekend.

the ones on my 85 XJ700N are metric, of course, and the nomenclature at the hardware store is M5/8 20mm length. That means 5 in diameter with a pitch of 8 and 20 mm long.

    CONGRATULATIONS. Sincerely.

    You won.

Ain't it great? I absolutely love having a brand-new 30+ year old motorcycle I can just fire up and ride. All you need to do now is follow the owners' manual and perform regular maintenance, the same as if you'd picked the bike up from the dealer (except the brakes are better.) Plus you know it was done right because you did it.

Good job. Enjoy the bejabbers out of it, I know I do. And ride safe.

Nice man, this is where I am trying to get to with my 700.
Btw, was the blue a factory color, all it have seen is black and maroon. I like the cobalt blue a lot, any close up pictures of it?

Hank, it has been repainted that color, it was originally black. I will take some close ups for you and post them. And fitz, yes it is a blast to ride :)
