Would it be possible to convert a ycis motor to a non ycis motor with a non ycis head ?

I believe it is as long as everything from the head gasket on up is from the same style, including matching carbs, etc.....

It is possible to plug the YICS, at least mostly. I plugged mine with a 3/8ths steel rod to deal with combustion issues due to the 2 carb mod I did on my 700Max.

    Polock wins.

The non-yics heads use a different mounting stud(s) configuration (head-to-jugs) than the yics heads, so........Just Say No.

Oops..... I forgot to mention you have to swap the whole rest of the engine, too.

Easy to convert a YICS to non YICS with the 550, you just use a 600 head, so yes it can be done and quite easily on that particular model
