what top trees fit xj550?

    hey I'm thinking about swapping the top tree on my xj55, what other top trees match up with it? can't stand that god awful built in riser dumbest thing ever

    I ask the same question here to. The only viable answer i got was to mill off the molded risers and drill holes for bushings for the desired riser.Yamaha didn't use many triple clamps with separate risers. Im sure the Guru's here will ping in soon. What year is the scooter. Place a pic, i think i have the same thing. Dirty

    Might help if you tell us if you have a 550 Seca or Maxim. They use different diameter forks.

    look up "Seca VS Maxim triple calmp differences" and its spelled wrong on the forum. You can see the answers i got so far. aint much to do with what we have. replace it with a Seca front end. the rake and trail will be different, dont know what that will do to the handling. most of the gurus here are partial to the Seca's. but its built alot different. Dirty.

    Saws-all, side grinder and a welder are the best tool to use on these jap bikes. Send a pic, i love to see innovation that aint tainted by factory regulations. thanks "Dumbass" Dirty

    its 36mm on a maxim so its uo to you to fabricate the rest. Just start with bikes that have a 36mm triple tree and work from there
