Hey guys, it's been a while since I've been on here but I need a bit a help getting my maxim going again after the winter. I just got done tuning the carbs last night and my starter button seemed to be intermittent until the point where it wouldn't engage the starter at all, the oil light doesn't even come on. Long story short, I replaced the solenoid this morning with the same results. Fuses are fine, continuity is good through all the wires, battery is 12.5V. The one thing I find funny is that I have 12 V across the solenoid terminals all the time, whether the key is on or off and whether the starter button is engaged or not. And no click from the NEW solenoid at all, even if just jumping it from the battery. Any help here would be great. Thanks!

So putting a screwdriver across the solenoid terminals doesn't make the starter spin? That says wonky starter to me. The intermittentness could also be a bad ground strap from the engine.
