Greetings all, I am new here and kind of stumbled in by accident looking for some technical info! That has been and very good accident for me!! So the short of it is I just bought a 82 XJ750 Maxim that was my dad's that he sold to a friend and now is back in my life! Except it sat for 3 years and has been a project and then some!! But I am glad to know I am not alone in my frustrations and it seems the bike will be worth it when I get running. Look forward to sharing and gathering advice from this forum!!!

Now how do I get fuel to my carbs!!! I did a major cleaning and everything is the way it was before except the fuel issue. :?

    Thanks for any advice!!

The petcock has a prime setting to get fuel to the carbs with out the engine running. If this does not do it you may need to rebuild/clean the petcock. If it has been sitting for 3 years you will need to clean the carbs also. If you don't already have one get a manual and follow the maintenance steps that should get you on your way to a running bike.

Welcome DaveLJ; also put your bike year/model in your signature, this makes it easier down the track to answer questions.

Thank You for the welcome!! And the advice, Cleaned the carbs, and the petcock flows, hose is new, so i guess it is a gremlin in the carb rack, or the intake port lol.

I am enjoying the pics of some of these bikes here and it gives me hope! lol
