My bike just started idling high ( in the 2000 - 2500 rpm bouncing even slightly higher) after longer periods of riding. ( over 20 min highway speeds ) at least . Just happened after I came back from a 1000km ride. I am a newbee but really want to learn to do as much as I can myself. I have a manual but the pic isn't very clear. I saw a post somewhere that mentioned to adjust the idle speed after if has warmed up substantially. I just would like a clear pic of where the screw is.

Here's an old post that has a couple of pictures:

After getting the engine warmed up, set the idle at around 1100 RPMs.

You should also make sure the throttle cable is lubed properly and the throttle snaps back to idle when released. And, make sure you have the proper play in the throttle when it's in the idle position.

If you're still having trouble after that, you may have to start checking for a vacuum leak.

You'll definitely want to get some cable lube.

WD40 is not appropriate for that type of application.
