Well, finished cleaning the thing up, painted, repaired, new fluids. Fixed some wiring problems, hooked the jumper cables up to see how I did. Not good, turned the key and nothing. Checked all the fuses, looked for lose wires, nothing. Time to start over. Donho

Are the valves in spec? Have you done a compression test? Sounds like you need a fully charged battery and a multimeter.

Yea, I'v done a lot to it, tune up, compression check, changed all the fluids. I got the bike for free, only problem was it came in four different boxes. I got it all back together, I'll figure it out. Thanks Donho

Trust your work; no need to start over. If the valves are in spec the compression test will have shown you that the plant is viable (in good condition). You need to start trouble shooting the starting system. Imo the easiest way is by process of elimination. Battery, multimeter and log book. There's a few things you need to check: fuse box, iginition switch, control start button, solenoid, starter, coils, ht caps, plugs, earth ground, terminal ground, alternater, rotor, etc. Hope this helps.

Check your fuses and clips, check you sidestand rely, and your kill switch.

Fuses- clips can fatigue and break, or simply oxidize thick enough to lose contact.

Sidestand - lift the stand, then reach down and pull the plunger to make sure it has FULLY extended. Often they get dirty and stick part way.

Kill switch- Mae sure it is ON. ALSO, rock it off and on numerous times in case there is some oxidation in the contacts

Thank's for all the great advise, I'll check the sidestand and the ignition switch, I'll check all the wiring again. I'm sure I missed something. I'll get it running and post some pics of before and after. It's actually quit relaxing working on the bike. Thanks again for the help. Donho
