Met up with a fellow XJ Bikes forum member for some coastal road riding, today. Saw a huge arched iceberg at North America's most easterly point (Cape Spear)…

That iceberg is more ridiculous in person. Glad to meet another XJ forum member and XJ fan!

The amount of turns and interesting sites makes a shortened season a non-issue. That was probably the best 100 miles I ever put on the Seca, hope we can get out again sometime soon for a boot!

We'll definitely get out for a few more coastal runs together, bud. It was great to meet someone else from this forum and share a run on the old XJs.

    National Geographic who?
That is very cool . . . literally and figuratively.

    Nice looking bikes!

    Thanks...

Seeing that big iceberg was a great ending to a pretty much perfect day of riding the old Secas.

Cool pictures. I would love to get together with a group of people and go for a vintage ride. Glad you had a good time.

Just have to ask is that red striping on the seat custom? It really adds something to that bike. Not to mention makes me envious and wishing my Seca 750 was in nearly that good of shape.

    Hey thanks, yep it's custom.

The old seat had an severe case of road rash, so I got a copy done with the piping done in red. The upholstery gal mentioned the red would fade over time, but seeing it stays covered most days I'm not that concerned. Worse comes to worse i get them to replace it, 10 years from now :D. She also put in a gel pack at the tailbone section, which helps.

That old beast has come a long way from what I picked up, fun doing little improvements...

How cold is it if you have icebergs floating past?
That's one thing that I will never see here.

My first reaction was not likely I'm in the Tropics but that second link shows as high as Brisbane so your right possible, if not likely.
    Cool!

All we'd need is one from the 90's and the 2010's to fill in all the gaps. Neat bikes to cruise around with; the Scrambler and the CB550
