I've got an 81 XJ550 seca Anyone know where this washer goes in the speedo drive unit in the hub assembly? I have had noises and lubed etc. Problem solved for a little while. I found this washer sitting just under the retainer clip in the speedo drive but it sort of floats loose and is not held in by the retainer clip. It is able to be pulled out freely over the clip and it's inner diameter is bigger then the retainer clips outer diameter. This washer seems out of place and sharp honed edges make it appear warn as if it's not in it's proper location. My other thought is that is part of annother pice to the unit that's been clipped off due to impropper assembly?? I just don't know how this hub goes together exactly and which way all the parts should be flipped and stacked. All digrams I have seen are not clear enough to tell this level of detail. This washer is clearly directional. Here's pics of both sides. Any advice here or does anyone have a scematic link with photo detail?
