    Hey XJ peeps!

First post here and i'm starting out with a question that most people won't care to answer because its being asked all the time i'm sure.

I just installed pod filters on my XJ and it has open headers currently (i bought it that way) and it absolutely will not start on its own. It will run like a champ with starter fluid sprayed at the filters so I know its a fuel issue. Question is how big of a pilot jet and main jet upgrade do I need?

    Thanks!

Or because there is no "set" answer to your question.

Just do a forum search on "pods" and start reading.

Your best starting place is here:

    http://www.xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=44642.html

It will take some reading, but all of the starting points for pods/exhaust are in there.

I would start with installing a real exhaust system before I started tuning the carbs.

None of mine start on their own, either. I always have to press that pesky little button.......

Thanks for all the answers guys! I just upped my jets and rebuilt my petcock and it is getting fuel now and is running decently for the time being. It defiantly will be in need of some good tuning.

Any links on how to perform a valve adjustment?

hogfiddles I got a kick out of that response by the way
