    Hi everyone,
    Is anyone can tell me if it is normal for this bike to ...whisle...when riding,when I press the clutch the noise is going away ....is that possible .I just bought the bike and is running good except for that noise.

    not sure if I would call it a whistle but my 85 700 X had a what the guys called it middle gear whine. If I remember right it was most noticeable when just cruising in mid to low rpm. I put 4,000 miles on it before I sold it with no troubles at all.

    Every one that I have heard either in person, or on youtube, has had that slight whistle similar to a turbo. I assumed it was the charging system or something.

    Its probably the primary drive gear from the crank to the clutch basket. this is a straight cut gear,straight cut gears by nature are noisy but very strong. Drove me mad till I worked out what is was, now I don't even hear it.
