So, I got her running. Clean carbs, working ignition.

Used the YICS tool to synch. It ran.

Then, when I was taking it out, one of the seals ripped. Now the bike runs uneven. Would a piece of rubber in the passage do that? How would I get it out?

Remove both nuts from yics port. Run a strip of cotton t-shirt through the port; use a piece of coat hanger wi th a loop on the end to push it through. Use a thin layer of motor oil on the entire tool prior to installation. The yics tool (that Chacal has) does not have to be excessively tight to properly work. When you remove the tool: release the latch, allow the tool to rest for a few seconds, slowly rotate the tool 1/4 cw and slowly remove the tool. Use the t-shirt technique to keep excess oil and debris out the port and re-oil tool before each test. Hope this helps.

I did oil it. Still came out with rubber missing.

I am concerned that a piece of rubber stayed inside and might be messing things up.

You can take a length of single-strand wire and make a tool to use as a probe so you can go fishing for any obstruction. JUst nip one end at an angle (to make a point) and put a short, 90º bend in it.

I've heard that one before, but it wasn't bike-related...

I shot mine out with compressed air. But I didn't run the bike till it was out.

Make sure you put some oil on the tool before installing it and don't leave it in there to long.

If you are a gun owner you can use a .40 cal bore brush and clean out the port. You always want to apply oil to the tool before using and it helps if you put a fan in front of the motor when you sync to keep the engine cooler.
