How much harder should it be to pull the clutch lever on a Maxim-X versus an XJ500 Maxim? Sometimes I feel like I'm going to get carpal tunnel on the X when I'm in stop-and-go traffic. The clutch works just fine, no slipping... just harder to pull than my 550 Maxim. This is one of the areas on that bike that I haven't explored at all.

Sorry I don't have any data here, just wondering how the two bikes compare. I suppose I could go at it with a fish scale or something and tell you how many lbf it takes to pull the lever...

Well the x has stiffer springs thats all I put x springs in my air cooled xj700 and with both springs out you can tell they're stiffer by squeezing them and I notice it in the clutch lever feels nice and tight

So it should be a noticeably alittle stiffer to pull in than the 550

I lengthened my clutch lever by 10MM after seeing that advise on this site.
This also gives you more clutch "feel" and lessens cable wear.

I did a search for this and came up empty. Any idea where the thread is for this? Thanks!
