I was looking about on fleabay when I came across a set of new seca fork tubes for my 81 model XJ550 seca. I brought them from england and it wasnt untill they were on their way here that I remembered that the fork tubes are slightly difffent sizes in different markets.

I am in AUstralia and I was wondering if the size of fork tubes was the same as the english market.

If they are not the same, how do you guys suggest I get around the problem.

    Cheers

If they are not the same, sell them and get the correct ones. You'll have to face up to a bit of a loss but better off in the long run. What was wrong with the originals? Have you looked on TradeMe.co.nz? I think there were some there recently.

I have a UK spec 1981 XJ550. Measure your diameter on your bike and Ill let you know if there the same as mine. I can not see no reason why they should be different.

From all that I've read the fork tube diameter didn't vary between markets, it varied between models. The 550's have 35mm upper fork tubes. The 650 and 750 have 36mm upper fork tubes.
