xj700n small head gasket leak?

    noticed a small spot of oil on fins that look to be comming out of the left front corner of the cylinder head gasket

    Look higer. Make sure that it's not the valve cover gasket. Look around the entire gasket. Leaking oil along the interior will migrate down through the water drain holes and onto the cooling fins, making it look like the head gasket is leaking.

    the valve cover does leak a tiny bit but theres oil right on the corner of the headgasket seeping out it looks like. theres no trail of oil so idk how oil could just end up down there.

    Clean it all off. Dust it with corn starch. and go for a ride. That will show you if there is a trail, or if the oil is indeed coming from the head gasket.
