    Hi friends!

Was curious to see if there was any products that can easily be used on an xj700 to get rid of the big guages and indicator lights.

    Thanks

Would look nice with the simplified gauge.

However, you would also have to fabricate a new fuse box, as the original fuse box is what houses the turn signal and warning indicators on the stock XJ700.

I just finished installing my Vapor gauge bezel. It really was an easy task one I figured out the wiring. Just replace the gauge bezel with ATM Fuse holders inside the headlight housing or if you want to rewire the bike you can run a circuit breaker setup or new fuse box from the back of the bike. I will be doing this during the winter. I actually removed my key switch and bought a Harley round key ignition switch and mounted it in the black part of the right side cover. It really works well and gets the keys out of my face....like they are a big distraction. Trail Tech Vapor with Bezel

Or you could get one of the more expensive units that keeps the speedometer cable. I cannot remember the brand but someone will chime in on it.

I am pretty handy and good with electronics. Does that digital guage wire right in and work as a Speedo and tach? Do any serious modifications besides the fuse box need to be made?

There is nothing major that needs to be done other than wiring. I will make a schematic because it took me FOREVER to figure out the correct wiring. The manual and schematic for this bike are horrible in my opinion especially with the electronics. I am working on getting my flasher to work but I cannot figure out the other wire. I know Brown is ground and brown/white is left but not sure of the right signal wire. Fishing for that through the forums now. I will post the schematic for the vapor gauge soon. When it cools off in my shop I will make the notes, its like a sauna in there with the tin roof and 100+ temp.

I have a 1982 XJ750 that I inherited. The bike is in great condition but the old dash is in need of restoration or replacement. I would like to see the schematic for the vaor gauge as well. Or any other suggestions of simple gauges that I might consider. Thanks!
