I have gone LED. A few old veterans on here are anti-LED however there are ones that are very bright. I bought some from this guy however he no longer supplies that exact one. It was good because it fitted into the flexible stalks on my XJ9. These are similar from him and at this price you can't go wrong ;)

I have put these on a lot of bikes. Really small about 30mm leds that are bright
Availeable in black and chrome. Plastic so they break easy just buy a couple as spares too just in case.

I went with contemporary Yamaha-pattern signals similar to those on most FJs and the XJR1300:

i do like the brightness of the LEDs and would like to go that route but id be very worried about trying to hook them up and any other complications i might have.

fitz how big are the lens on those? and do they blink pretty brightly?

Oxide those do actually look pretty neat i wonder how bright they are actually

    I'm going with something like these; http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHROME-RED-BULL ... 9c&vxp=mtr

Some makers offer front and rear complete sets with either incandescent or LED and both yellow and red lenses for the front and rear. Also in Chrome or Black.

Minor issue: they really should be front and rear specific. What I mean is the tear drop should be blunt end forward for both front and rear, with a blunt yellow lens on the front and a tapered red lens on the rear.

eh im just not too into the bulkiness! i had an issue last year when i was going out of a parking lot and as soon as i started to go some idiot had whipped out real fast and me being the new rider i had hit my brakes and clutch and set myself off balance. and laid the bike down softly :/ luckily i stayed in the parking lot and didnt get out in front of them! but i broke one of my turn signals which is now ghetto rigged :/ so im kinda taking it as an opportunity to mess with a different style or if it just comes to it find aftermarket same ones

There are two factors that make things visible from a distance: brightness, and physical size. We naturally perceive a large dim object as being more of a threat (more visible) than a small bright object. Don't go too small when choosing a turn signal, or it will be ignored by other motorists.

The 25-9900's are small and BRIGHT and DOT. Unfortunately they are pricey :( unless you get real lucky on ebay.
