There was an “Extra Added Attraction” to the usual excitement of being on-the-road with the long stream of 2-wheeler’s heading up 93 North, out of Massachusetts, into New Hampshire, to cruise into Loudin, and show-off your freshly pimped ride.

Gangs; saddled-up on high-tech, fuel-injected, plastic-wrapped bullets with supplemental Nitros oxide afterburners challenging each other for the lead; and not letting the limited space in front, behind or along side other cars, trucks and motorcycles go to waste.

The toll plaza at the New Hampshire State Line, looked like a Pavilion separating the pits and the racetrack. As they waited for the point man to pay the track use fee; the riders walked-around, tweaked suspensions and revved-up their rides waiting for the signal to turn green.

    And then they were off!

93 North at the New Hampshire Line turns into a 5-lane stretch until you get to the other side of Concord. Shortly after the “Toll Paid” green light came on … the air was a mix of exhaust and tire smoke, as the race to the Loudin turn-off began.

With their helmets hanging-off the seat locks and their T-shirts tied around their waists; the gangs were off in a smoking and spinning, fish-tailing, wheel-standing, weaving and sliding Cavalry charge.

One such group was behind me as I forked-over the buck, got my quarter back, and got the green light, turning me loose on the five-lane-wide and six mile long straightaway.

I had the Max’s idle tweaked-up to eleven-fifty. When the light turned green I pushed her to the limit, running her right-up to nine grand before shifting gears.

As the tach approached 7-G’s in third; I already ran out of speedo. Fourth happened for about as long as it takes to say it. When I got into fifth; I figured I must have put enough distance between me and the Nitos Brothers to let-off it a little bit … but, I was gaining on a pack of Harley Boy’s so I kept ‘er wide-open on the 2-percent upgrade and let the tach move to within a couple of thousandth’s short of the red.

    Then, it happened.

I heard it … then felt it … then saw it!

    Blurs.

Too damn close for comfort. Both on my right and left, elbow to elbow with me.
I had my doors blown-off by the high-tech’s.

    I’m sure my Max was going flat-out … whatever flat-out is on a 750 screamin’-along, in fifth, at 89-hundred rev’s.

They were long gone before I caught my breath.

Bet it was fun! I have had my "door"lown off while cranking my 650 Seca to the red line but I still had a blast. It gave me all that I wanted so I am cool with letting those low flying boys have their fun too.

Yep-per.....I had my clock cleaned last summer on the Buell by two guys on Kawasakis....they were pulling up to a four-way stop on a deserted country farm road as I turned left in front of them, disappeared over a rise, and enthusiastically whacked the Mikuni hard against the stop. B.Rex responded in fine spirits, nailing ninety in third and an even 110 by the time I hit fifth and throttled back......
About that time, the two Kawi's crested the rise behind me and swung around me (not to be outdone by an American Creation) and blew by me like I was standing still.....and I let 'em go, bless their hearts. In all honesty, they must've been hitting 160 or better. I figured, if they wanna die THAT bad, far be it from me to stand in their way.

It's a good thing that high speed is limited to my 550 because that's as fast as I ever want to go. At this point, the only thing that would make me happier would be some fake shroud that makes my motor look bigger than it is or something like one of those Varoom* motors that were for sale when I was a kid. You clamped them on your bicycle frame and it made them sound like a motorcycle. If it would make my bike sound better then I would buy it! When the day comes and I buy a that Vmax I want, I might as well pull the ignition wires off two of the cylinders that I don't need. I could see me going to a place like that though to push it a bit and to see the show. Good read...sounded like a good time Rick. :)
