    I was reading through Trokel's XJ900 thread and came to the picture of his tire after running at Brandford. It made me curious.
    My stripe is pretty wide. I ride mostly interstates. And I'm an old fart.

    I am usually dragging the highway pegs on the ground on side roads. But I do a lot of highway, so I run through the middle pretty quick.

    Chicken strips/stripes are something a lot of road riding knobends use to circle jerk themselves into thinking if they have have none they are some kind of riding legend

    They have no relavance to how good a rider you are

    A chicken strip is the less tasty portion. I have eaten them in the past, but they are not nearly as satisfying as a good thigh.


    William, it's the portion of the sidewall that squids scuff off while doing u-turns in the parking lot, so they can brag about how far they can lean on the street. As a point of refrence I didn't have any on my scooter, which means that I can ride as well as Mark Marquez can.

    My "chicken strips" will be growing.
    I hit a patch of gravel the road crews left on a freeway on ramp while I was reducing my chicken strips. I knew I was going down so I eased off the turn and put her down in the dirt/grass.
    I don't hit the turns as hard as I used to.
