    He ya'll,

I was taking apart the back end of my bike to get rid of some rust, and while dissembling the swing arm I ran into some trouble. The final drive unit popped out no problem, and the right side pivot bolt came out, but the left one seems buggered. I pushed the locking tab on the washer behind the bolt back to loosen it, then can't get it anywhere. Any suggestions? I also have the side loosely in so its not torquing weird. I just wanted to make sure the bolt isn't reverse threaded or I wasn't missing another step. I have a air powered impact wrench that I am tempted to hit it with I just don't want to break anything if I am missing a step.

    Thanks!
    Mike

those are the ones that need a allen key? try a hand impact before you put the air gun to it. if you round the hex hole out, your in deep do-do.

The right one appeared to have what your talking about with the allen key and came right out, the left appears to be a straight bolt, although it does have a rounded hole in the center. From the diagrams I was looking at thats what it seemed like. I'll try and post a pic of the diagram if I can find it.

    EDIT:

Apparently I have a bike fairy, I went to work on the bike and the swing arm was off. I'm guessing some of my family heard my struggle and got a breaker bar to get it free.

So I have gained a breaker bar and a swing arm to clean and paint, woohoo!
