Ok I have a 1981 XJ750 Secca. I'm wanting to do some major work on it over the winter but the problem I'm having ifs finding parts so I can start buying them now well main engine parts. What I'm looking for is a rebuild kit that had completely new bottomend(crank, rods, bearings,ect...) and topend(cams, valves, ect...).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just an FYI this is my first bike rebuild but I do know abd have done cars(mainly SBF)

    Thanks
    Chris

You are better off sourcing an entire engine, the cost just to refit the original engine with gaskets and wearable parts is beyond what a running ebay engine woud cost you. Replacing the crank, bearings and other hard parts puts it through the roof, cost wise.

Ah. I was just wondering as there is nothing wrong with my current engine I was just thinking that a 81 with 30,000+ miles night need redone(my experience in cars) are mike engines more durable? All I have found looking for engine parts are gasket kits and a 3mm over bore piston set.

Should get 60,000 miles out of that 750 without the need to tear it down.

I'd concur with sourcing a spare engine.
My Maxim 750 went 79K before "something" broke inside the transmission. The engine still runs great, but something in the shifter won't let it shift 1-2 without lots of jiggling etc... The problem was inside the case- not just the external shifter assembly.
I was able to find a bike with 14K on the engine in Ohio for $250.
I have now put another 50K on that engine, and the bike is still running great.
You are long way from "needing" a rebuild.
