I just spotted this in someone's Flickr gallery and it looks like it could be a
cool meet-up ride location for upper Midwesterners who want to get together:

Rockerbox Motofest Milwaukee, August 11, 2007.
    http://www.rockerbox.us/index.html

I don't know anything about it, but judging from previous years' photos and the organizers' sense of humor (read the show rules - there's a category for "Worst Turd"), it could be a fun time.

All bikes are welcome, ride-ins are encouraged, and admission is free.

It'd be pretty cool to get a pack of XJs together for a cool photo op.

I made it out to this - quite a cool event. 4 blocks closed off so there are only motorcycles parked along the street (ok, there was one car). I took 191 photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/oblivion/s ... 394440874/ Saw 3 other XJs, I think, including a nice example of the Touring Seca (an '83) in red. Though the dude did something odd to the instrument panel: http://www.flickr.com/photos/oblivion/1095334595 Also saw a red Maxim ('81), and a red 550 Seca (Red was a popular color - mine was the only black XJ I saw).

There were some really interesting/cool rats and choppers, quite a few old beemers, Triumphs, etc. I saw a Norton or two, 3 Indians, and 2 Royal Enfields.

I'll definitely plan on heading back next year. And I'll take business cards with the XJBikes logo and URL to leave on the XJs I see.

Hey Eblo, his cluster mounts are snapped off! I'm fighting the same battle with mine. Nice fix, looks halfway decent too. Any chance you got to the post office with that box? I know you've been busy, just checking.

I'm going to try and make this year's events assuming that my bike is up and running well by then. Hell, I might even try and give it a paint job for the event...
