I'd like to take my carbs off to clean them at some point on my 82 xj650 maxim, but while I have them off I would like to replace the intake manifolds that run from the carb to the engine. However, I'm having some trouble finding them at a reasonable price. I found two websites that have intake manifolds for other bikes and I was wondering if they could possibly work or if anyone knew where to find them. The two websites are Mikes XS and New Motorcycle Parkts . Thanks

You won't find them at "a reasonable price". But you can get them from Len at a decent price, coupled with reliability, over-the-top service and help with question, super fast shipping, and satisfaction of knowing the parts are CORRECT.

In answer to your other question..... No, other boots won't fit right.

Thanks, everyone. I'll give that a try, maybe someday I'll have a full fledged restoration to post up here, but until then this will have to do.

I have as a band-aid just smothered them in gasket maker.
One of the Ultra ones are best. Ultra blue, Ultra copper, ect.
The best way to go is to click on the flashy icon at the top right of this page and get a quote!!!
I do like Stumplifter's rig there. It would work real nice, and stop the boot from squeezing in under vacuum too.

Those boots are too thick and strong to squeeze in under vacuum. Aint gonna happen.
