UK/Europe Shim pool ..

Hi All

Any thoughts about starting a european/UK (only just in Europe.. ;-)) shim pool. I have some spare 265s and 275s but I need a 255 right now..
..and as I'm a mean sod I don't want to pay 10 GBP (17 USD) each for them.

Hi All, I have 270's 280's and 285's ,I also have an xj900 engine pulled down,2 spare heads and sundry other parts ....

 

Thanks guys - I've a couple of spare heads too but water damage has pitted beyond use a lot of the shims - one or two as mentioned are good though.. keep 'em coming !

Just done mine last week, so I'll have a look at what I've got spare.

I've got 16 spare shims but won't get chance to check the sizes until Tuesday at the earliest.

2 available @ 285
1 available @ 280
5 available @ 275
4 available @ 270
3 available @ 265
1 available @ 260

I have one 260 shim from an XJ650.
Not sure if they are interchangeable with your 550.
If you want it how do you want to proceed? Maybe you send me a stamped, addressed envolope? I'm not sure how this is normally done.

All shims from all airhead xj's will interchange.

Hey, guys in England--

if one of you does decide to gather up all the shims at one location to be a shim pool, I have quite a few extras of obviously the 270 - 290 range, and if you need some of those for the pool, let me know if that would be a help....

HI All

Now that I have the cams torqued down and rechecked the valves a few have closed up (due to removal of rusty sludge and carbon..?). Anyhow looks like I now need a 260.

Anyone got a spare to pass on..

.. for money.
