    Hey guys...
    Maintenance/Work question...

I am trying to get my brake res open to fill it/check it out but the screws seem to be rusted down. I tried spraying the top with wd40 and let it sit but its like the screws are soft & I'm afraid of stripping them any worse. Is there a trick to get these off? Should I just replace the whole part? How/Where would I order this part?

I've seen brake/clutch lever sets online that look ok but I'm not sure what's compatible or will work with this bike...

    Thanks all!

I find you often need to use a screw extractor and then simply replace the screws.

    - What size are the screws so I can get another set?
I wasn't sure if an extractor would work since the screws look soo small. I'll have to take a look at a hardware store. I wonder if my local Auto Store will have an extractor as well as screws.

WD40 is a water displacer, not a penetrating fluid (hence WD). Use PB Blaster, or better yet, Kroil.

XJ4Ever carries the original style screws plus I believe he has socket-head cap screws if you're not going for the purely stock look.

This is the type of screw extractor I was referring to; the kind with a "reverse drill" on one end. Quite often the act of drilling extracts the screw and you never even need to flip the extractor over.
