I appreciate any and all ideas and constructive criticisms...I'll keep an eye out in my travels just in case I do find something though and let everyone know.

"modified horse shoe and a couple modified exhaust v band clamps. Weld those together, prime, paint, clear and mount."
i can't think of any kind of exhaust clamp that won't smash the tops of the fork tubes

Lookin good, man! Very clean & original. I'm tempted to go for that front wheel conversion too but don't really want to spend the cash. Definitely looking forward to seeing your project finished!

Thanks Ted...Wanted different from black & whatever color...the front tire conversion was a little pricey, but well worth it.

Hey all...been away for a while at rehab after a stroke I had in October. Been lucky so far but getting back into the build again. Working on the seat pan since it's been so cold. Have the nose and rear gusset done and just need to do the dye airbrushing on the pin-up girl, do some stitching and it will be ready to put on the bike. I need a break in the weather to go over to a buddies house to finish the paint and clear coat. Pretty sure I will be ready this spring. Gotta wait and try to convince the doc I can ride though, stroke or seizures carries and automatic 6 month med suspension on the license.

Glad your back on your feet. But no shit? I got shorty shocks from a sportster already but the no spring look is awesome. Never would have thought they are OEM

    Glad your health improved.
Love your leather seat, did you tool it yourself? I just inherited some leather working tools and looking for ideas.

I love eBay...finding parts are so easy and even better prices...definitely better than HD buying parts...don't get me wrong, HD has some nice bikes....but never would be able to afford the prices for their parts...lol...guess the HD truly means Hundred Dollars to start on anything...lol.

JaiFer...thank you...I am doing all the work myself... including my leather, been doing leatherwork off and on for the last 30 years...cool on inheriting the tools...get on the internet and start looking at tattoo flash for anything you may be interested in...most of it is free to use...so get in there and have fun...let me know if you would like some links that I have found, and definitely join leatherworker.net...they are so helpful and so much info for anything you could possibly ask.

Thanks for the leather info , I was wondering where I could get pattens and such. Back in the early seventies my Dad made a custom seat for an old BSA show bike. Unfortunately 3 months later, thieves broke into the guys basement stole the bike and left the seat behind. The old man figured they left it because it was too noticeable and traceable. Hopefully that won't happen to us. Cheers Jaimie

People who steal and/or trash bikes have no soul! Either that, or they don't understand the bond a man forms with a machine. Add to it the amount of blood and sweat poured into a custom, and that machine becomes a member of the family!
