Well one thing we all have in common is "the Ride".
I was thinking about a thread where the importance of the Motorcycle Safety Course was mentioned, the thing is there are far more survival tips available out there, tips learned firsthand by other Riders. So here's a start share your thoughts and ideas, simple or complex as they might save a life.

    Something I never even considered.
Carry your cell phone in an INTERIOR pocket on your person! I never even considered this idea until it was mentioned on another forum. I had a Motocycle wreck in the Mountains of southwest Texas. My luggage exploded! Socks, underwear, meds, camera, tools scattered everywhere over the entire crash trajectory. I didn't have a cell phone in those days, but if I had, no telling where it would have ended up. Keep your phone on your person so you can find it quickly if it's needed.

When I have my cell phone, it is always on me, and I always have it when I go for a ride.

if you ever feel like hoping on the bike for a "short" ride always take the time to put on the right gear.

if you ever ride in shorts and sandals please slap yourself as hard as you can.

all gear all the time. your skin will love you for it.

    Amen.

Give this a read: http://xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=1 ... bunny.html I started this back in July of '08 because we had/have no "safe riding" forum. Twenty pages of responses later, it really makes for some very good reading.

Add your input, by all means.

And as always... be the bunny.

    Fitz,
Your link is the same as my link :)
I probably should add my trip from Saturday for the sake of adding to the experience pool.
