Carb help

    Hi I own a 83 xj750 seca bike won't start I was dumb and messed with the idle screw what's the stock adjustment or the best adjustment I can do.

    back it out til it just touches the landing as you turn it back in. Now give it another 1/2 turn-1 turn or so. That should get you to at least run so you can warm up. Once warmed up, you'll have to play with it to get it where you really want it.

    However, my bet would be on carbs, but it could be coil-related, too........

    What exactly was it doing, what exactly did you do, and have you checked valve clearances yet?

    Ok I'll try it out but I haven't checked the valves plus were can I buy the valve spacers

    Before you order shims, you must check the current clearances, pull each shim to determine what size is currently in, then do the math or check the chart to see what size to drop to.

    When you know what sizes you have, and what you need, you determine of any can be simply relocated, and the order the few needed ones.
