I'm going to sell the 900

Toughest decision I've had to make in a while... Sell the commuter or the 900.

We just lost an income and have a baby due in December. I have an 02 Suzuki Volty that I've used to commute for a couple of years and tonight I decided to keep it because I can get more $$$ for the 900 and the 250 is a whole lot cheaper to run.

I could well end up regretting selling it but at least I have the 650's to get on with restoring.

What do you think it's worth?

It now has 18000 kms on it.

    Auction Listing

    Titled and looking showroom fresh!
Meticulously restored and Concourse D' Elegance condition.
Tuned to perform at it's ultimate capability.
A true Classic and Collector specimen.

I'd start accepting serious offers at:
    $3,350.00 (AU) = $2,850.00 (US)

Tough decision but good on you putting the family first. It'll smart for a while and the memories will never fade but you just might happen into another 900 at a more opportune time down the road. Congratulations on the expected child and my condolences on the loss of income, slimming down is never easy.

It owes me just over 4k NZD

Take as many photos as you can now wile you have it. I took a loan out on a Yamaha Rapter 660 quad about 2 years ago, had a blast on it for about a year and deff. have some GREAT trail riding stories to remember with but I always wished I had taken at least 1 pic of it. Times come fast and hard, I had to sell it to get out of the loan due to the monthly note being way to high. Don't feel blue.....when the kid moves out in 18 years you are going to get a nicer one!

I wish you and you're girl the very best.
Hopefully the kid loves bikes too. :)

I have a feeling that whoever steals that 900 from you will have it up for auction for alooooooot more than 4000NZD in about 15 years.

One of the other reasons I am looking to move it on is because if I keep it, I'll use it as a daily ride and I'd like to see it go to a collector who only takes it out once in a while, keeps it mint and finishes tidying up the bits I've left (not that there's many of them :)

    A) "yea my dad used to have a old 900 yamaha, but he sold it a long time ago"

    B) " wow thats a sweet old bike your dad's got, think he would take me for a ride"

keep the bike, sell the projects, you have no more spare time

I hope you get what the bike is worth and more Alive. You can buy another bike later when your life shakes out. It took 20 years and bribing the wife before my life did though. :( Family does come first and I wish the best to you!

Good luck with the sale and the pregnancy. Especially the pregnancy!

Had a look at the ad and she's presented beautifully, good mention of the gravel rash..... Could be trying to put off prospective buyers, eh?

    Hope it all works out.

I'm getting lots of hits and plenty of watchers.... Even have a 4k bid....

But I got a bank loan last week which sorted out some of our financial issues so I can afford to hold out and ask more now...

The cost of listing it means I'm not ready to stop trying to sell it but I am a lot more resistant to selling it now.

Thanks for your support around the family... She is 16 weeks and all is going well at the moment... We're both really excited and happy about what will be a new arrival right on Xmas :)

Any time you sell a bike you love. You regret it.I had a seca 600 I loved.Taught my kids to ride it.And would pay good money to have it back. But like you,I had to have money. So I regret selling. But not why.Family always comes first.

I hear ya... I'd still sell if it covered the loan I just took out... Otherwise she stays.
