    Hi all,
I have three things I want to do on my 82 xj650: I have been trying to figure out what to do about my intake boots. I've tried the inner tube which works pretty well, but I've got two that are really split right through, and I'm thinking maybe my inner tube job didn't work all that well and that's one of the reasons it runs a little rough. I haven't yet adjusted the valves either and I can feel a little bit of air blowing by the head gasket so I'm going to try to re-torque the head before deciding to replace the gasket. I was thinking I'll get all three things out of the way on the upcoming long weekend if I can.
Today I noticed that a Canadian seller has a set of four intake joints for $94. I've never seen them anywhere near that cheap and I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about them. It doesn't seem like a lot to risk - unless of course I'd be just throwing $94 away because they're no good at all. Then I'd probably feel a little stupid. Anyone familiar with them?
    Thanks,
    Scott

Thanks for that link. That is cheap, but bidding is still happening and there's no buy-it-now button. The Canadian deal is $94 and no shipping. So the price for the set of new ones might be almost the same. My record with used parts is like 50/50. I know it always seems safer to buy original Yamaha parts even if used, but I'm just wondering if anyone has tried these fellas yet. If anyone has tried them and had luck with them I'm not gonna rule them out. But if your link stays cheap for the next couple days - maybe I will grab them. I appreciate you sending the link - love this forum. It's the most helpful thing for someone with zero motorcycle experience. Makes it fun instead of a nightmare.

Post a WTB thread. Some one may have a set they're willing to part with.

Just a FYI, this is from XJ4Ever.com....our local parts supplier..

HCP21226 OEM Yamaha rubber INTAKE MANIFOLDS, complete set of 4 intake manifolds (2 left and 2 right). Manifolds only; you must order all accessory pieces (manifold-to-head gaskets, nipple plug caps, bolts, etc.) separate. Fits all 1982-3 XJ650 Maxim (except Turbo), 1982 XJ650RJC, 1982-later XJ650 Euro, and all 1981-83 XJ750 models. Set of 4: $ 289.95

They ain't cheap.....but they are perfect...

+1 on post a WTB on the forum...you may get lucky and get a real good set some what cheap, but you will still need gaskets, and possibly nipple plug caps and new bolts....
