Great looking bike! Especially considering the 'before' picture - you've done a fantastic job bringing this bike back from the near-dead.
I especially respect that you personalized the look while retaining and even improving the 'rideability'. I'm betting that this bike will see a lot more miles in the coming years.

Thanks for the kind words. It looked like the bike had been used as a paddock basher. Everything was caked in dirt and rust. I tried to keep the original look while streamlining her a bit. She goes well and handles like a bike of half the weight. I'm still making some final small changes and adjustments but I'm happy she didn't go to the breakers.

Bike looks awesome dude. I have many questions about your seat - is it a custom job and if so can you give any details on how it's constructed / attached to the bike.

Two thumbs up! Nice resto-mod. Practical too, I see the stock airbox is still there and it has a front fender.

    Good job.

Excellent work! Did you do the pipe and metal work yourself?

My father-in-law got me an 81 XJ550 Maxim for Christmas. We have a little bit of work but nothing serious. I was wondering what you did to the back of your Yamaha for the seat. I like the style and I'm leaning in that direction. Just curious how you went about it.
