    Well.....

Sitting at work last Wednesday I received a text from my girlfriend saying that our neighbors house was smoking but that there was a fire truck there, so I assumed that everything was under control.

Well about 10 mins. later I received another saying that flames blew out the windows on the side of the house nearest our garage. Being that our garage is only about 6 ft away from his house and inside was my Maxim, I rushed home to see if there was anything I could do to save/move the stuff in the garage just in case the fire got worse and spread to our garage also.

I got home to find out that she had already moved my bike from the garage and the fire crews had the blaze pretty much under control by the time I got there.

I figured it wouldn't hurt to put the bike back in the garage, and all was going well rolling it back into the garage.... but I didn't take the time to change into my boots when I left the office and my dress shoes which have smooth leather soles found a patch of oil/snow and down I went....along with the bike.

Man I was pissed, still am, and can't even believe it happened.

Luckily though, I had my car ramps leaning up against the wall and somehow the ONLY damage to the bike was a cut on the grip from where the sharp edge of the ramps cut into and the mirror caught onto the ramps keeping the tank/engine/turn signal/etc from hitting anything.

Downside though is that the mirror is bent so I'm on a search for one to replace it.

As the rest of the bike is in good condition I'd like to find one that looks pretty good.

    Thanks guys.

I wouldn't hesitate to straighten that, buy a nut, and run it. But, I'm a cheapskate who's bent back a lot of metal things, with care and consideration, and usually it's been fine. With steel. Go slow, no pounding.

Yeah, put a couple bus on it , put it in a vise, and bend it back. The cup nut can be replaced easily

Just noticed the iPhone typo--- trying again...... Put a couple NUTS on it to save the thread and bend it back, then all you need is the cupped lock-nut. I'll look to see if I have just an extra one of those----
