AIR LEAKS!! Should I Give Up on These Carbs??

    I was testing for air leaks,with wd40.with engine warm and running.sprayed around boots ,all is well.But when I sprayed the springs near the sync screws..leak>>on all carbs both sides,I was at bike shop yesterday picking up parts,he told me to do this air leak test and if I had leaks here it was time to put up the "white flag"is there any hope for these carbs????

    Sounds like your throttle shaft seals might be the culprit -- they are replaceable, do a search and you'll find some threads.

    You should give up all hope and drop your bike off at my house. Better yet, because I know you are so frustrated, if you pay me a few bucks, I'll come get it!

    Your carbs are still worth keeping, this isn't a death knell. The shaft seals are available for a little more than $5 at last mention. There is a thread around here somewhere with a valid link for them. Best of luck.
