I need to replace mine and there seems to be a lot of options out there...and a fair amount of difference in price too...
Thought about buying NOS OEM seals...but who know's how old there are...and they are at the top of the list expense wise...
Last time I replaced them with "Leak Proof" seals...and I can say I'm all that impressed with how long they've lasted. Then again I'm not sure how long a set of fork seals should last...
Any experiences with the various brands?
This is an '82 XJ1100J...Pressurized forks.

I've gone through 2 sets of after-market seals on my 700 in 4 years. I bought OEM seals from BikeBandit, have 3 seasons on them with no seepage. I would think that Yamaha still makes seals for a 1100.

Apparently they don't but there's still quite a few NOS OEM seals out there.

I just ordered a set of fork seals for my 550 from len (chacal). I haven't looked, but I imagine he has what you need.

My experience is that decent seals will last a very long time if properly installed on good inner tubes that are kept clean. Any kind of pit in the chrome acts like a knife carving away at the seal. I've read, and believe, that insect carcases stuck to the tube do the same.

Almost all the seals I've installed are from K&L supply or oem (I believe Chacal carries both). I'm not a big fan of all balls seals, I find them excessively difficult to install and had one bike where their dust seals kept climbing out.
