Tank emblem removal?

    I just received a tank I bought off ebay and need to do some body work to it. I also want to remove the round Yamaha emblems. Is there a recommended way of removal without damaging them? I'm sure someone else might want them.

    I don't specifically know about yours, but they're typically held down with a thin double sided tape. You can use a piece of mono-filament fishing line or dental floss to saw through it. A bit of penetrating oil will keep the string from getting hung up in goo.

    Yep...fishing line and WD40. I sawed through my Yamaha (the word) emblems on each side of the tank with sturdy fishing line.

    Was easier than anticipated. Just requires patience and continued pressure on the line.
