    Finally have some pics up of my bike. She's fresh out of hibernation of 5 years in the garage. A little carb work and she's back on the road. The funny thing is now I have this high pitched chirping that's coming from around the alternator I think. Guy at the bike shop doesn't seem to concerned but it's annoying. Messes with the smooth sound of those cylinders making power.

    Pull-off the Alternator Cover and look at the two Rings where the Brushes make contact with the Rotor.

    If there a spot on the rings where it looks like they're growing a tiny bit wider than the original old "Shadow" left by the Brushes ... you could have a bearing going bad.

    You might need a Magnifying Glass to look along the edges.

    Cool, thanks for the tip Rick. I've been wanting to pull the cover off for awhile now...just haven't had the time. But this sounds like a great lead (although I hope I don't have a bad bearing)
