The top picture shows a broken one (missing the insulator).

well supposedly someone got ahold of colortune and they sent them free insulators... being in the USA i doubt they would do it. dont get why people post stuff saying they work when they're actually broke kinda sorta

The plug MIGHT still work fine, and you could always put some heavy-duty shrink tube (or wrap the stud with electrical tape) and it might work to get your job done. You just don't want the electricity jumping from that stud to the "hex nut" portion of the plug (ground) as the plug wouldn't fire, and make it kinda useless.........

There should be two insulators on there.... It looks like one long one but it's actually two short ones stacked up. The top is removeable, I don't know if the bottom unthreads. I haven't tried. It could be as simple as someone took the off the lost them, I guess.

FWIW, I just noticed last night while working on the Kaw that my colortune is also missing the insulator. Works fine at idle but if you rev it up a bit the spark will jump. Not an issue for me as I don't use it for anything other than pilot mixture.

Mine is definitely an older one, there are some other older ones on ebay right now that also are listed as NOS but are missing the insulator. I wonder if the older ones didn't have them for some reason.

Yea i did some research. I guess first versions didn't get them and couldn't handle as much pressure. So they revised fixed it with An insulator and made them stronger.
